LINCOLN COUNTY REGULATORS
Notice
We have an announcement that neither of us (John Chisum and Bad Deal) want to make. The announcement is to let everyone know that at the last board meeting of the gun club, we told the board that the Regulators would no longer be holding SASS meets at the range. It has been a good run, we have met and shot with a really great bunch of people during the years we have held the meets, but we are not able to put them on any longer so we are closing Old Lincoln down. John Chisum 214-668-1618 or Bad Deal 575-937-5176.

Billy the Kid
The original Regulators in Lincoln County, New Mexico were a legally constituted and deputized posse, with warrants and affidavits issued by Justice of the Peace John Wilson and led by Special Constable Dick Brewer, John Tunstall’s ranch foreman. The Regulators’ primary aim was to hunt for the killers of John Tunstall. That was in 1878.
One hundred thirty five plus years later, today’s Lincoln County Regulators are the Cowboy Action Shooting arm of the Ruidoso Gun Club and an affiliate of the Single Action Shooting Society, known as SASS.
The Lincoln County Regulators host a monthly Cowboy Action Shooting match at the Ruidoso Gun Club range on Hale Lake Road, a half-mile off Highway 70 in Ruidoso Downs, NM. They have developed a special Cowboy Action Shooting range, featuring the premier Cowboy Action Shooting town of Old Lincoln, a unique town which represents the historic town of Lincoln and even includes a replica of the Lincoln County Courthouse. Matches are generally held on the third Saturday of each month.
